Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! Today, Connor's E-III class celebrated Valentine's Day by hosting a party and reciting poems and scripture.

My Mother's Chocolate Valentine

I bought a box of chocolate hearts,
a present for my mother,
they looked so good I tasted one,
and then I tried another.

They both were so delicious
that I ate another four,
and then another couple,
and then half a dozen more.

I couldn't seem to stop myself,
I nibbled on and on,
before I knew what happened
all the chocolate hearts were gone.

I felt a little guilty,
I was stuffed down to my socks,
I ate my mother's valentine...
I hope she likes the box.

Merry Christmas 2012

Merry Christmas to all! We celebrated Christ's birth last night at Christmas Eve worship, Avery leading Christmas games, leaving cookies and reindeer food for Santa, and getting up early this morning to open presents. Then, surprise, it started to snow and we enjoyed a White Christmas!

Avery's Birthday Party 2012

Tonight, Avery celebrated her 12th birthday with many of her school friends with a "Cupcake Wars" themed birthday party. For those of you who are not fans of the Food Network television show, the show features teams of chefs in a competition that decides who makes the most unique and tasty cupcakes. The theme for our competition was "The Nutcracker." Our panel of celebrity judges consisted of Ann Buller, Meg Feretti and Kyle Moldrem. Such a fun way to celebrate Avery's birthday!

Avery's Soccer Game

Tonight, Avery played most of the game in the Providence vs. ESD soccer game. We thought she did so well! We are so proud of her.

This weekend, we attended the Texas A&M versus Missouri football game at Kyle Field (Aggies won! Whoop!). We also took a picture of Avery and Connor to use in our family Christmas card. 

Dad bought a new camera

Dad bought a new camera today. Here is the first photo of Connor with Dad's new camera. Isn't he handsome?

Connor is 6!

Today is Connor's 6th birthday. His birthday present was given a new big boy bike. He is so excited!

When I was one,
